Lessons and Pricing
- Standard lessons: 90 minutes, starting from home, work, or school. Lessons can finish at a different location if needed.
- Why 90 minutes? They’re typically more productive than 60- or 120-minute sessions, reducing wasted time and learner fatigue.
- All lessons in a top‑of‑the‑range luxury vehicle.
As your skills grow, we’ll progress to faster roads (dual carriageways and motorways). Longer sessions may then be appropriate.

- Dual Carriageway Lesson (2.5 hours)
- Route: A303
- Focus: Overtaking, joining and leaving via slip roads.
- Dual Carriageway + M32 Lesson (3 hours)
- Route: Dual carriageway plus part of the M32
- Focus: Higher‑speed planning and merging.
- Dual Carriageway & Motorway Experience (4 hours)
- Route: A303, M3, M27, with a rest break and service stop
- Focus: Overtaking, slip roads, and using digital maps to plan safe journeys.
- Pass Plus (DVSA)
- For newly qualified drivers to build experience and confidence.
- Six modules: Motorways, dual carriageways, adverse weather, rural roads, night driving, busy town driving.
- May reduce insurance premiums with participating insurers.

Terms and Conditions
Conduct and vehicle
- Professional, courteous, punctual tuition.
- Clean, well‑maintained, dual‑controlled, fully insured car.
- Lesson time is used solely for your tuition.
Qualifications
- DVSA‑approved and legally authorised to give driving tuition.
Licence and eyesight
- Bring a valid provisional or full UK licence to your first lesson.
- You must be able to read a number plate at 20 metres (with glasses/contacts if worn).
- Not wearing required visual aids may end the lesson, and the fee will be charged.
Safety, comfort, and well-being
- Wear suitable footwear and clothing.
- Tell me if anything distracts you or makes you uncomfortable — your feedback matters.
- In emergencies, follow instructions; I may use dual controls or assist steering.
- I will remain calm and respectful — no shouting or inappropriate language/behaviour.
- Disclose medication or conditions that could affect safe driving.
- If illness, tiredness, or distress affects safety, the lesson may switch activities or end.
Alcohol and drugs
- Lessons will be cancelled (chargeable) if you are, or appear to be, under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication.
Cancellations and postponements
- Student cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice are chargeable.
- I may postpone due to emergencies, breakdowns, bad weather, heavy traffic, or overrun tests. Full lesson time will still be provided or rescheduled promptly; ancillary costs are not reimbursable.
- Threatening/dangerous behaviour ends current and future lessons.
Punctuality
- I’ll wait up to 15 minutes; after that, the lesson may be forfeited and chargeable.
- If I’m delayed unexpectedly, you’ll receive your full lesson time or a suitable make‑up.
Payments
- Rates as agreed. Payment by cash or bank transfer.
- Pay 48 hours before each lesson; the first lesson is payable on booking (confirmed via Total Drive).
- Rolling advance payment may be used against short‑notice cancellations or test‑day car use.
Accidents and the law
- While supervised, you are still the driver and legally responsible for offences (e.g., speeding). Fines/penalties rest with the driver.
- If you ignore instructions and cause damage (e.g., tyres), you may be asked to contribute to repair costs.
- On test, you are officially unsupervised; DVSA examiners are not supervising.
Driving test
- You now have to book your own test. Learn with Duncan uses the Trowbridge test centre; you may use your own car elsewhere.
- Tests take priority in scheduling; lessons may be moved accordingly.
- Use of my vehicle for tests is at my discretion for safety and readiness. If regular lessons or mock tests indicate risk, I may refuse my instructor's car for test purposes.
Complaints
- Please raise issues directly with me first so I can resolve them quickly.
